Duties

Serves as a lifeguard for indoor and outdoor pools. Employs safety rules for the protection of the pool guests. Provides maximum pool area surveillance and responds to emergencies, rescues pool patrons and administers first aid as required. Assists in maintaining pool, and area clean and free from hazards. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety/health/admission rules and procedures. Attends aquatic and/or safety training as directed.

• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Good vision is required (corrected vision if necessary).
• May be assigned to irregular duties or when needed for special recreational events and related requirements
• Work hours may involve weekend, weekdays, holidays and night duty
• Pre-employment physical is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
• Must participate in all required trainings, rescue drills, and simulations.
• All required certificates must be kept current.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a childcare Tier 1 background investigation

Qualifications

**Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the minimum qualifications criteria.** Possesses and maintains the following certifications: Lifeguarding and First Aid (American Red Cross or nationally recognized equivalent i.e. Star Guard, YMCA, or ELLIS); American Red Cross "Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional; CPR for the Professional Rescuer/AED or equivalent (American Heart Association CPR/AED); First Aid .You must submit the required Lifeguard/CPR/First Aid certificates as "other" with your application. If currently enrolled, a copy of your receipt must be uploaded. Applications missing proof of certifications or proof of enrollment will be marked ineligible.
