The position serves as the Director, Office of the Facility Management and Administrative Services reporting to the Volpe Center's Director for Operations. The incumbent's functional responsibilities include direction of all personnel and activities associated with planning, organizing, and directing programs including space management, security, occupational health and safety management, building management services, and other support services.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equal or equivalent to the GS-14, it must include:
Experience directing activities and managing staff associated with planning, organizing, directing, and providing facility operational services in three or more of the following areas: space utilization; personal property management; environmental and energy sustainability; engineering and design services; safety services; and fleet and parking management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations.
Knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
Knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines related to securing personnel, facilities, and information, including the requirements for handling, transporting, and protecting classified information and proper reporting of security incidents.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques of financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to interpret quantitative and qualitative data; includes data modeling, earned value management, and evaluating key financial indicators, trends, and historical data.
Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance.
