About the Position: Red River Army Depot (RRAD) is located in northeast Texas, 19 miles west of Texarkana and approximately 170 miles northeast of Dallas. Duties

Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services, (PMCS) on transfer and mainline pumps. Operate fuel tanker truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 33,000 pounds to deliver bulk fuel. Compile monthly reports using systems such as Monthly Bulk Petroleum Accounting System (MBPAS), Fuels Automated System (FAS) and Automatic Gaging System (AGS). Observe fuel samples from commercial tank trucks to determine the grade of fuel. Adhere to strict quality control program by correctly identifying petroleum products. Ensure safety procedures are observed at all times while operating equipment.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance for access to Depot Production Computer System.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Personnel Background Investigation (NACI).
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • This position requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing over 70 pounds.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position requires the use protective clothing and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by employer.
  • This position requires a valid Forklift Operator License.
  • This position requires a Commercial Driver License's (CDL) Class B with HAZMAT endorsement.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Fuel Distribution System Worker (Motor Vehicle Operator/Forklift Operator) (Direct Hiring Authority) ~ without more than normal supervision to include operating fuel tanker truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 33,000 pounds to deliver bulk fuel, using gage stick and/or tape and bob method to measure levels of fuel for physical inventory, ensuring safety procedures are observed at all times while operating equipment.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Efforts-Work requires considerable standing, walking, bending, working in awkward conditions, and climbing on tanks and heavy mobile equipment. Exerts light to moderate physical effort while performing operations such as connecting hoses, opening valves, and constructing pipe. May be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Frequently lifts and carry supplies materials, and equipment that weigh over 70 pounds. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls on the forklift. Working Conditions- Much of the work is done outside in all kinds of weather, around moving parts and vehicles. There is some danger of fire, exposure to toxic fumes, excessive noise, vibration, and falls from the top of vehicles. Tanks, pumps, and bulk storage containers are equipped with hoses that collect fumes before they escape into the air. Work is performed in areas that are hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, and bruises, injury from falling objects, collisions, shifting loads, and overturning.
