Duties
Duties listed are at the full performance GS-05 level.
Reviews personnel action requests for accuracy.
Inputs personnel data into an automated system.
Researches processing problems to resolve a variety of coding errors.
Ensures that all required documentation is accounted for in the Official Personnel Folders.
Uses word processing software to produce forms, reports, and general correspondence.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
General Experience Requirements:
For the GS-04 level:Applicants must have one (1) year of general experience providing progressively responsible clerical, office or other work which provided the knowledge and skills need to perform the duties of the position being filled. General experience is defined as one (1) or more of the following: providing routine assistance and information directly to internal and external customers; and/or initiating and resolving customer inquiries with moderate complexities; and/or researching and providing information from guides, manuals and regulations while working with managers, supervisors, employees, applicants, retirees, and the general public.
OR
An associate degree or two years of successfully completed education above high school;
OR
A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college, or university.
Specialized Experience Requirements:
For the GS-05 level: Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as one (1) or more of the following: Reviewing personnel action requests for accuracy of agency code, existence and adequacy of supporting documents, appropriateness of the regulatory authority and the proposed action; and/or Coding and inputting personnel data into an automated system; and/or Resolving processing problems and researching a variety of error messages.
OR
A bachelor's degree or four (4) years of successfully completed education above high school;
OR
A combination of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester / 90 quarter hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
