Duties

Maintains stock levels for authorized supplies. Maintains property accounts and records, completing individual transactions, screening reference files, conducting data searches and distributing output files. Performs document control work involved in the processing of supply transactions. Provides assistance to customers, storage depots, or other organizations. Performs general clerical support work.

  • The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the Position.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
  • As required, may train and/or guide other personnel in performance of material handling duties.
  • Physical is required. Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • This is a Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency (cont'd)

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Clerical and Administrative Support Positions for Supply Clerical and Technician Series, 2005. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures, or other instructions relating to the specific functions assigned. Knowledge of a range of standard clerical assignments and to resolve recurring problems. OR EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of supply regulations, policies, procedures, techniques, and methods. Knowledge of policies and procedures for requisitioning and stock control. Knowledge of general office administrative and clerical procedures. Knowledge of data entry and processing of supply transactions in an automated supply system. Ability to research, compile, and analyze supply information and data; receive, screen, review, verify, and maintain supply documents; and resolve discrepancies. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
