Result letters will not be sent to applicants who respond to this flyer. You'll serve as an Industrial Equipment Mechanic in the PRODUCTION DIV, NAVFAC MIDLANT, NSA HAMPTON ROADS.

Duties

You will review written specifications (e.g., schematics, technical orders) to determine industrial equipment maintenance project requirements. You will use test equipment and measuring devices (e.g., alignment scopes, verniers, micrometers, bearing bridge gauges, flow meters, hydrostatic testers, vibration analyzers) to determine extent of repairs required. You will plan and lay out nonproduction industrial plant machinery, equipment, or systems for installation. You will disassemble industrial equipment to identify excessive wear and deterioration.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: The ability to do the job of a Industrial Equipment Mechanic WG-5352-10 without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by performing the following: 1) Troubleshoot industrial plant machinery to determine the nature and extent of repairs necessary; 2) Make needed repairs by replacing, reworking or refinishing worn or damage parts and components; disassemble and repair general industrial plant machinery, equipment and systems such as cranes, air compressors, overhead door systems, pneumatic tube systems, pumps, and sliding wall systems; and 3). Interpret and apply technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints, and other documents.
