Duties

You will install, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment. You will inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with National Electric Codes, Unified Facilities Criteria, State and Local requirements, etc. You will test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. You will review and adjusts system controls, using Direct Digital Control (DDC) computer systems.

  • NAVFAC MIDLANT is a regionalized command. The incumbent serving in this position may at any time be reassigned to a similar position at any site or workstation within the commuting area as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF AN MAINTENANCE MECHANIC WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION INCLUDING: 1) Troubleshooting, repairing and installing a variety of industrial systems and equipment such as electrical intrusion alarm and fire alarm systems, security monitoring and access systems, closed circuit TV monitor systems, and personal computer systems, etc.; 2) Ensuring work is in compliance with specifications and completed within required time frames; 3) Locating, repairing malfunctions of systems and testing completed work; 4) Utilizing standard test procedures, schematics, test/computer program instructions, technical manuals and technical change directives to complete assignments. ****NOTE: This experience must be fully and clearly supported in your resume.
