About the Position: This position is located at US AMCOM, TMDE ACTIVITY, ARMY PRIMARY STANDARDS LABORATORY, PRODUCTION CONTROL & SHIPPING, REDSTONE ARSENAL, AL. The position coordinate/schedules the calibration and/or repair of a variety of test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
Duties
Assist customers in checking the status of equipment and respond to customer priority changes.
Schedule and coordinate workflow by receiving Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) for calibration and repair IAW the Army Calibration Program.
Use a computer to update TMDE database.
Enter TMDE received for calibration and/or repair into database and assign work center; assure instrument record data is correct.
Apply knowledge of pertinent regulations, procedures, and instructions applicable to calibration support operations.
Perform visual inspection of TMDE received, annotating missing or damaged components and notifying customers of discrepancies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Incumbent may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to 35 pounds.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- Must be willing to undergo a one-year probationary period.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated database systems for entering data, correcting data, and retrieving reports; performing administrative functions such as maintaining records, researching information, and preparing reports; AND controlling the workflow such as checking status of work progress and prioritizing work orders to ensure completion meets appropriate time frames. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
