This position is located in Office of Research and Training Development (ORTD), Division of Intramural Research (DIR), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH), US Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
Duties
If you are selected at the GS-13 level, you will perform the following duties:
Serve as an authoritative consultant and troubleshooter. Plan, develop, and evaluate experimental biomedical programs.
Design, develop and coordinate biomedical training and curriculum development activities with federal, state and local public and private organizations, colleges and universities and the local public.
Develop procedures, criteria and standards for use in evaluating the biomedical training and educational programs and conduct surveys to evaluate program effectiveness in relation to the needs of the organization.
Serve as an advisor to management and staff in the planning, development, presentation and evaluation of complex biomedical training and education programs.
Provide assistance in the development, implementation and evaluation of biomedical academic performance measures.
Actively participate in ongoing marketing of the biomedical programs and participates in biomedical career opportunities at various colleges and universities, giving presentations on these biomedical research training programs.
If you are selected at the GS-12 level, you will essentially perform the same duties as those at the full performance level, described above, however, duties may be less complex and may be performed under closer supervision or with more detailed guidance.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.

Qualifications
Minimum Education Requirement
You must possess a Bachelor's degree, or graduate/higher level degree with major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position. (This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained).
Additional Qualifications:
You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: assisting in developing, implementing, and evaluating training and education strategies related to biomedical research; producing biomedical training products (courses, aids, methods, training plans, etc.); and collaborating with customers to determine training program needs or requirements; and providing recommendations on revisions to education curriculum.
You qualify at the GS-13 level, if you meet the following qualification requirements: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal Government obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: independently developing, implementing, and evaluating training and education strategies related to biomedical research; analyzing new biomedical training programs and changes to existing biomedical training programs; developing processes to identify training facility, instructional, and other resource requirements for inclusion in a biomedical program curriculum; and developing new biomedical courses and seminars.
