THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SOCIAL WORKER (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T59128P1 and is part of the NC ANG, National Guard (145th AW / Position Number 1075529).
Duties
As a SOCIAL WORKER (TITLE 5), GS-0185-12, you will actively support the commander's leadership team in addressing the psychological health of their installation; conduct assessments, routine and crisis evaluations, psycho-diagnostic assessments, provide short-term, evidence-based problem resolution strategies and services; design, develop, coordinate, and implement prevention and community outreach and education programs; be responsible for marketing and marketing evaluation activities; provide professional consultation, advice, education, and training to other military and non-military health care professionals, medical personnel, military commanders/senior leaders, wing personnel and their family members, and community agencies concerning primary and secondary prevention programs; prepare agenda for meetings, compile statistical data, and prepare a variety of recurring reports.
Requirements
- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Must be a fully qualified Mental Health professional IAW AFI 44-119.
- Must possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands.
- Must be privileged for independent practice by the Credentials Committee at the employing Medical Treatment Facility
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 6 months of onboarding.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: Degree: social work. Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (Master's degree with practicum)
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level (or a combination of Education and Experience).
