About the Position: This position is located in Fort Moore Georgia, Facilities Divisions Operations. All candidates must reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. Local commuting area is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community. (5 CFR 575.203)

Duties

Disinfecting restrooms to include urinals, toilet bowls, and sinks. Dusting, waxing, and/or polishing furniture and fixtures. Buff and waxes floors. Emptying waste baskets. Providing updates to supervisor status and progress of work. Setting up and tearing down for special events or assemblies. Adjusting and/or performing minor maintenance to attachments on power equipment. Ensuring that needed materials and tools are available on site for workers to complete daily duties. Opening and closing school following all security procedures. Demonstrating proper work methods.

Requirements

• Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
• Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
• Direct deposit of pay is required.
• One year trial or probationary period may be required.
• Appointment subject to a suitability /fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
• This position requires a Tier 1 (T1) investigation with Childcare Checks since its duties require interaction with children and youth under the age of eighteen (18) years of age.
• A pre-placement medical examination is required.
• Position has heavy lifting requirement of weight up to 50lbs

Requires working on ladders/scaffold in the performance of some duties. Working Conditions: Usually works indoors in areas which are adequately heated, lighted, and ventilated. Exposed to vibration from heavy equipment and to skin irritation from strong cleaning solutions. Care must be taken to avoid serious injury when working on ladders and scaffolds or when using heavy powered equipment.
