About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of RM, Medical Readiness at 60th Medical Group, Travis AFB, California.

Duties

Unit Deployment Manager ensuring assigned personnel are qualified and ready to meet Air Expeditionary Force requirements. Plan, organize, and oversee all unit level deployment activities. Review all deployment related documents for applicable equipment and personnel taskings and identifies the units total deployment requirements. Utilize Logistics Module (LOGMOD) to monitor and track unit status during deployments and exercises. Establish metric and system analysis systems for unit and higher level management to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures. Provide technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program. Brief unit commanders and staff on deployment process. Ensure the unit is ready to meet wartime and peacetime mobility taskings by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • Selectees will be required to sign a statement (Condition of Employment) consenting to seasonal influenza vaccinations or must provide a recognized exemption.
  • This position may require the incumbent to work during irregular work hours which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or varying work schedules.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes planning or overseeing deployment activities and utilizing multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents or reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Program Management, Emergency Management, Logistics Management, Military Science, or relative field of study. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementComputer SkillsManages and Organizes InformationTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
