About the Position: This is a military technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Regional Support Command, Equipment Concentration Site 87 located at Fort Bliss, Texas. Duties

Operate the full range of gasoline or diesel powered vehicles. Establish deadlines and prioritize workload. Develop performance standards and counsel employees on performance. Identify training needs of employees and make recommendations to provide necessary training. Perform maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Review in-progress and completed work for adequate quantity and quality. Instruct subordinates in new procedures and provide advice when problems arise. Plan weekly and monthly work schedules.

Requirements

  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES ACTIVE MEMBERSHIP AS A SOLDIER IN THE U.S. ARMY RESERVE (USAR).
  • This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation.
  • This position requires a Class A CDL within 180 days of employment.
  • This position is subject to Drug Abuse Testing Program requirements.
  • This position requires a medical examination prior to employment.

Ability To Lead or SuperviseAdministration and ManagementOperation of Motor VehiclesPlanning and EvaluatingTraining and Employee Development Physical Effort Required: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that require the worker to stand, stoop, bend, and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Moderate physical effort is used in operating hand and foot controls when driving, turning, stopping and starting the forklifts and motor vehicles and in raising, lowering and tilting the forklift loads. Working Conditions: Subject to working out-of-doors during periods of inclement weather. Is exposed to serious injuries while operating vehicles over public roads and on the installation. Works on concrete floors and in drafty areas. May be exposed to fumes, fluids, dirt, battery acids, etc., resulting in bruises, cuts, burns, and skin irritation. Wearing of hearing protection and other safety equipment is required during all periods of exposure to hazardous conditions.
