About the position: This position will be assigned to the Fisher House on Jont Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
Regular Part-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 20 hours to a maximum of 35 hours per week. Duties
Assists Fisher House Lodging Manager in the executive management and administration of the Fisher House facilities which contribute to mission accomplishment. Participates in the execution of policy and procedures for the scheduling of guest rooms, check-ins, check-outs, and orientation of guests. Manages the assignment of guests to available guest rooms and checks guests out. Performs daily inspections of vacant rooms and common areas, checking for cleanliness and maintenance problems. Monitors the conduct of guests. Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies such as eligibility, referrals, admission, length of stay, and expenditure. Participates in the development, execution, review and analysis of Fisher House non-appropriated and appropriated fund budgets. Structures organization to optimize use of resources and maximize efficiency and effectiveness of the lodging operation. Conducts special studies or reviews as assigned to determine adequacy of lodging conditions, compliance with requirements, and to evaluate effectiveness of financial management/controls. Implements new procedures, regulations and guidelines concerning operations. Assists with ensuring facility is in compliance with all Air Force health, sanitation, and safety rules and regulations and maintains a hazardous material log. Assists manager on projects and continuing operations, including budgeting, control and operations reporting, maintenance, housekeeping, and guest relations. Coordinates with Financial Management, Civil Engineering, and other appropriate organizations to obtain assistance and garner support. Reviews weekly and monthly status to adhere to budget controls and makes necessary spending adjustments. Assists in the identification and assessment of any problems that may arise by proposing solutions to the manager. Assists in marketing activities designed to educate the public about the mission and benefits provided, manuals/publications for internal operations, articles for the Fisher House magazine, and updates for the Fisher House website. Performs full range of supervisory duties for subordinate housekeeping staff, volunteers, and contract workers. Conducts employee education and training as well as periodic reviews. Ensures federal mandated EEO and affirmative action plans are observed. Performs duties of the lodging manager in his or her absence.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience that shows progressively responsible administrative, technical, professional, or other work which has provided a knowledge of executive management principles and practices. Experience could have been gained in a military or commercial hotel. This experience must have included responsibility or supervision sufficient to demonstrate skill and knowledge in such areas as activity management Planning and programming, economic soundness of program operations, accounting, supply procedures, facility management and renovation, and supervision of a subordinate staff. Subject to satisfactory completion of National Agency Check w/Inquiries. Must be able to work a variable work schedule including weekends, nights, and "on-call" as needed.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
