About the Position: Serve as an Administrative Support Assistant for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division(LRD) in Cincinnati, OH. Management may select at the GS-05, 06, or 07 grade level. Full performance grade of position is GS-07. Situational telework IAW Division policy.

Duties

Coordinate information and compiles for specific reports such as awards, budget execution, program management, quality management, training status and wide variety of routine tracking, analysis and reporting products. Provide administrative support preparing reports and other documents utilizing various software and automated information systems to electronically retrieve, create, review, format, transmit, finalize, print and save documents and reports. Independently perform various general clerical duties in support of the organization's operation. Receive and answers routine telephone inquiries or refers to the appropriate staff. Establish controls and suspense dates and follow up on suspense actions to insure that required action and responses are made within deadlines. Assist with planning, preparing and supporting meetings and conferences. Prepare travel documents for TDY, PCS, and invitational travel orders. Researches travel modes and accommodations, performs cost analysis and recommends most efficient method of travel, makes appropriate arrangements. Maintain required accounting data on all travel made and provides reports. Coordinate travel arrangements and resolves discrepancies involving travel method, leave while on travel, overtime and reimbursement errors. Create, process, and ensure statutory compliance for travel vouchers in accordance with the most current version of the Joint Travel Regulation.

GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes procedural and administrative work in an office environment; preparing correspondence; maintaining files or records; making travel arrangements; maintaining inventory records; and timekeeping. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. GS-06 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes procedural and administrative work in an office environment; preparing correspondence; maintaining files and records; making travel arrangements and credit card purchases; and use automated personnel and timekeeping databases. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages. GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes procedural and administrative work in an office environment; make travel arrangements to include preparing orders and vouchers; coordinate training requirements; use an automated personnel database to initiate personnel actions; and use a financial management system to complete duties as timekeeper. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Reasoning (Clerical/Technical)Teamwork GS-05 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04). GS-06 Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
