You will serve as a Machinery Repair Shops Supervisor I in the Production Resources Department of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will review work instruction, assignments, plans, specifications and sketches to effectively identify the work operations of various trades groups. You will assign tasks, tools, equipment and materials to workers and assure that tools, equipment and materials are readily available, properly handled, used, stored, and maintained. You will organize daily job orders, schedules, and projects to prepare and plan work sequence and priorities. You will prepare guides on priorities, work schedules and any other matters of importance not covered by existing instructions. You will resolve issues and take actions to overcome bottlenecks, equipment breakdowns, material shortages and other delays. You will conduct spot checks and inspection of work to evaluate quality and quantity of work performed by subordinates and compliance with instructions. You will maintain records of subordinates time and man hour charges, assignments, work progress, accidents, injuries, and prepare reports, as required. You will manage personnel tasks of subordinates, rating employee performance, approving leave requests, recommending disciplinary or commendatory actions, and ensuring compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies.

• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• This position may require rotating shift work.
• This position requires the ability to distinguish colors.
• Work requires walking, bending, climbing, reaching and working in confined, cramped areas.
