About the Position: Serves as the Installation Management Agency (IMA) Equal Employment Officer with full responsibility for establishing, organizing, directing, and staffing a medium to large Army operating BASOP installation Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office.
Duties
Direct and manage the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) program.
Monitor activity complaints across an organization to identify problems and recommend solutions.
Manage the processing and disposition of all individual and class EEO Complaints.
Evaluate the overall effectiveness of an Equal Employment Opportunity program.
Ensure cooperation with EEO Counselors and EEO personnel in prompt processing/investigation and resolution of complaints.
Assign work to subordinates based on priority, difficulty, employee capability and equitable distribution of work.
Determine the need for and initiates action to obtain adequate personnel, funds, and equipment to manage a viable, model EEO program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience establishing, organizing, directing, and staffing an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office, advising management officials, on program requirements to include providing quality products, services, and direction on issues related to the administration and management of an EEO program and the impact of organization policies, plans, practices and decisions on personnel. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
