This position is located in Chickasaw National Recreation Area, in the Visitor and Resource Protection Division.
Duties
- Operation of automated fee machines and national reservation system.
- Manage campground hosts and assist with fee compliance in our campgrounds and at boat ramps.
- Assist with traffic congestion management.
- Serve as a technical authority for the resolution of especially difficult or sensitive technical problems associated with the collection, deposit, tracking, and expenditure of fee revenue and donations.
- Ensure all collected fees are remitted and reconciled in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Coordinate the implementation of new procedures, plans, and systems to improve the inhouse tracking of fees, tours, campgrounds, events, permits, etc.
- Manage commercial use authorization permits and special use permits.
Additional duties performed at the full performance level:
- Development of advice and implementation plans and procedures for all staff, ensuring that all program compliance goals, and reporting requirements are met.
- Conducts analyses and studies of financial and operational data to identify and resolve problems.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.

Local Area Information - The recreation area is located adjacent to the town of Sulphur, Oklahoma (population 6,000), 82 miles south of Oklahoma City and 140 miles north of Dallas, Texas. The towns of Ardmore and Ada, each with a population of about 25,000, are about 30 miles away. Springs, streams, and lakes in wooded and grassy hills typify the area. Elevation is 1,011 feet and the average annual rainfall is 38 inches. Summer temperatures sometimes exceed 100 degrees and winter temperatures of 20 degrees or lower are not uncommon. Both Sulphur and nearby Davis (population 3,000) have school systems with Kindergarten through Grade 12. Fully accredited colleges are available as close as 30 miles.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-02/29/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
To qualify for this position at the GS-7 grade level, you must possess at least one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 professional grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: providing resource orientation, disseminating information, collecting, and accounting for fees, completing remittance reports for monies collected, leading others involved in fee collection or visitor orientation programs, and working with technology and software used in revenue and fee management. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate level education (18 semester hours) in a related field such as business administration, finance, accounting or other closed related subjects. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. You must include transcripts.

Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.): A bachelor's degree in a directly-related field, as noted above, and meeting one of the criteria of S.A.A. - (1) Class Standing: must be in the upper third of the graduating class in a college, university or major subdivision, such as the college of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses; OR (2)Grade Point Average (G.P.A.): Applicants must have a grade-point average of (a) 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on four years of education or as computed based on courses completed during the final two year of the curriculum; or (b) 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final two years of the curriculum; OR (3) Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society: Membership in a freshman honor society cannot be used to meet the requirements of this provision.

Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. To combine education and experience, first take percentage of required graduate education. Then take the number of months of full time experience and divide by 12 months. Add the percentages together. The total must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. You must include transcripts.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
