About the Position: This position is a DOD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Employees occupying CES positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.
Serve as the Director, G-1, NETCOM.
Duties
Plan, integrate, resource, manage, administer, and evaluate comprehensive programs effecting all facets of military and civilian personnel readiness, SES management, and congressional inquiries.
Manage and protect the Army’s enterprise level infrastructure and is headed by a Major General, with three subordinate general officers and one SES supporting three major subordinate commands, brigades and directorates.
Exercise delegated authority for planning, directing and evaluating all command programs within the broad framework of DOD and DA policies, regulations, and procedures that will guide and govern civilian and military personnel across the command.
Through subordinate supervisors, provide oversight of comprehensive CHR, military HR, and military readiness programs.
Review and analyzes current and proposed activities, reports, guides, methods, procedures
and programs and their implementation and integration throughout the command to determine
their effectiveness in satisfying requirements of the command.
Ensure determinations and decisions to implement major program policies and courses of action are consistent with laws and regulations governing the administration of command programs.
Provide leadership and guidance on the full spectrum command programs to senior leaders on high priority and controversial policy matters which have significant impact on command readiness or involve highly sensitive matters with Command General.
Supervise and direct program operations through subordinate supervisors, senior specialists, action officers, and team leads engaged in the full range of command programs and operations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Three year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or
equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control
Program, employee must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to
appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Position is designated Mission Essential.
- Required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends,- mandatory overtime; subject to recall
to duty.
- Must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situations.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
