About the Position: This position is located at Fort Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville. The geography and climate are ideal for year round military training.

Duties

Provides real property and facilities maintenance and repair, construction, energy conservation, and related engineering services for the installation, within the technical guidance and program scope established at the command level. Keeps abreast of developments and trends in engineering sciences, techniques, and standards as well as the regulatory framework affecting internal operations. Supervises the activities of supervisory, administrative, specialist, engineering, and other technical personnel engaged in the division operations. Evaluates the effectiveness and conformance to standards, of multiple engineering construction methods to include electrical, mechanical, construction, and/or civil engineering. Evaluates effectiveness of internal and external engineering operations through review and analysis of production reports and inspections. Prepares Annual Work Plans to include the financed and unconstrained programs for Real Property Maintenance Activity (RPMA) projects and Base Operations Support (BASOPS) large maintenance requirements. Prepares the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) portion of Inter/Intra Agency Service Support Agreements (ISSA). Manages the Work Reception, Estimating and Scheduling functions for the DPW. Manages the preparation and execution of Internal Controls and Management Controls.

• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
