The primary purpose of this position is to provide a student trainee who has been appointed to the Pathways Program with on-the-job training and guidance to further student technical development.

Duties
***This position is temporary and has a Not-to-Exceed date. However, this position may be extended to the fullest legally allowable period without further competition. The appointment may also end early due to lack of work or funds.***
Performs selected tasks and phases of routine studies and projects that require application of basic
occupational field theory and principles in the technical area of building management
Participates with senior personnel in conducting non-routine projects
Provides assistance in planning, monitoring, and conducting special studies, projects, and initiatives
Requirements
- Must meet suitability requirements for Federal employment
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be enrolled at least half-time at a qualiflying accredited institution
- Must sign a Pathways Participant Agreement
- U.S. citizen or national (resident of American Samoa or Swains Island)
- Must be eligible to work under U.S. immigration laws
- Males 18 years or older must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal and Regulatory Guidance
- You must be a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university. Accepted for enrollment or enrolled in an approved program
- Have and maintain a good academic standing with at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale for bachelor's programs and 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 grading scale for master's program
- Enrollment must be at least half-time course load as defined by the education institution (typically six hours or equivalent for undergraduate and three hours or equivalent for graduate)
- All federal employees are required to have direct deposit
- Pre-employment physical may be required
- The actual work performed in this position has been reviewed and determined that it does not meet any of the exemption criteria defined in 5 CFR 551. This position has been designated as nonexempt
- This position is established under the provisions of the Pathways Program
- Some computer keyboard knowledge and typing desired
- May be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft in the performance of official duties
- Selectee may be required to serve a probationary or trial period
- Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
- This position may require drug testing and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the generalized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Student Trainee Positions. Failure to submit transcripts, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university will result in an ineligible rating.
QUALIFICATIONS:
For GS-04 grade level: Completion of 60 semester hours or more of post high school study leading towards a qualifying degree (i.e. associate's, bachelor's, master's, etc.)

***For completed educational programs or equivalent during Spring/Summer 2024, proof of acceptance or current enrollment in an accredited college/university for Fall 2024 must be provided***
