Duties

Serve as a calibration specialist in the parameters of electrical, electronic, microwave, nucleonic, optical/laser, physical and dimensional standards and measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of test. Select, apply, and interpret electronic principles and practices as related to the specialty area as required to collect, reduce, display, analyze data, and provide metrology information for a wide variety of general purpose TMDE. Prepare reports to correct errors in existing procedures and provides technical information used in the decision making process for the development of documents used for TMDE certification. Provide calibration traceability through the Army Calibration Laboratory and Army Primary Standards Laboratory to the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Perform repairs incidental to calibration as required by equipment specifications. Measurements applicable to the calibration, certification and evaluation of test, measurement and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).

I work under normal supervision of higher-level supervisor who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. WORKING CONDITIONS The work is performed in laboratories and user facilities where technicians are exposed to the hazards of high voltage high pressure, high and low temperatures, chemicals and radiation. Calibrators must comply with all safety regulations applicable to the calibration mission.
