About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin IT&T (Information, Tickets and Travel) Office.
Duties
Assists in IT&T program operation and maintenance of equipment and facilities and recommends new programming activities. Special emphasis is on programs for families and family members and special groups such as retirees, singles, and private organizations. Evaluates existing programs to determine if need of specific groups are being met. Assists IT&T Director in establishing a tours schedule, in promoting marketing strategies and advertising IT&T programs and coordination of program activities with other services/Eglin offices. Responsible for manning the customer service desk within the information, ticket and tours office. Provides customer service, answers telephone, and provides information concerning IT&T programs and activities. Sells discount tickets to local and regional attractions such as theme parts, professional sporting events, and other recreational activities, Responsible for operation the cash register, collecting money, making change and issuing receipts. At the end of each shift, closes out the cash register and inventories tickets using s computerized spreadsheet, completes required paperwork and submits to supervisor. Makes daily cash deposits. Opens and closes IT&T office. Is accountable for ticket inventory and monies received for tickets sold. Performs as tour host as scheduled. Inspects tour buses and ensures they are clean and ready for scheduled tours. Decorates facility to reflect holiday and program themes. Works with other staff members, volunteers and/or individual/personal services contract personnel. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Must have experience that provided a basic knowledge and understanding of IT&T operations. Must have experience in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit or other processing of cash items when this included direct handling of cash items and use of cash accountability control methods. Must have the ability to communicate both orally and in writing, and be able to read, speak, and write English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must have experience using common software such as Microsoft word and excel. Must satisfactorily complete installation, state, and national criminal background checks.
