The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an acquisition program manager responsible for developing, establishing, implementing, and controlling contractual, financial, and technical aspects of a project/program through designated phases of the acquisition cycle for which no closely related precedents exist.

Duties

1.Develops, implements, and controls contractual, financial, and technical aspects of a project/program through designated phases of the acquisition cycle for which no closely related precedents exist. 2. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates activities of functional specialists including contracting, engineering, manufacturing, program control, configuration/data management, test, and logistics. 3. Reviews and directs the progress of contractors in meeting program objectives. 4. Represents the organization at executive levels within the Government and to contractor/industry representatives. 5. Prepares, presents, defends, and interprets staff studies to the Program Director and/or other management officials.

  • Incumbent may be required to file an OGE Form 450, Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, upon appointment and will be required to file annually.

Acquisition Program Manager who will oversee the Distributed Ground System-Experimental (DGS-X) program at the geographically-separated unit at Langley AFB, VA and will provide program oversight for all AF DCGS PMO mission support efforts for test, integration, centralized sustainment, software fielding, & the weapon system help desk for two globally distributed IT enterprise environments for the C2ISR Division home office which is located at Robins AFB GA. Additionally, the Program Manager will support the Branch Chief who will manage weapons system support, daily requirements, and coordination with host base services, security, civil engineering, communications squadron, contracting, safety, fire, and weapons systems stakeholders (ACC/A235, 480 ISRW). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management. 2. Knowledge of business, industrial management, contracting procedures, technical concepts, and production practices to evaluate contractor proposals and activities. 3. Knowledge of the missions, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, Air Force, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition process. 4. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. 5. Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work unit. 6. Ability to plan, organize, lead, and manage critical aspects of research, development, production, and support of subsystems or equipment, and integrate, analyze, and manage a variety of acquisition functions and personnel in support of the process.
