About the Position: This position is located at U.S. Army Sustainment Command, 404th Readiness Center, Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) Supply & Services Division, Ammunition Branch, JBLM, WA.
Duties
Performs full range of warehousing duties involving receipt, storage, issue, shipment and surveillance operations connected with the handling of ammunition and its components, powders, explosives and residue.
Established storage plan and following compatibility and quantity/distance criteria, stores material in appropriate bunkers.
Completes forms authorizing over-the-road runs, pulls and loads designated items, blocking and bracing as required.
Operates 2,000, 4,000 and 6,000 pound capacity forklifts, and trucks with a gross vehicle weight over 10,000 pounds and under 26,000 pounds, to load and unload, re-warehouse and move ammunition and residue.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Incumbent must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Position may require lifting up to 70 lbs.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State driving license.
- This position is subject to Lautenberg Amendment of the Gun Control Act of 1968.
- Weekend and shiftwork may be required.
- Travel up to 20% for TDY may be required.

U.S.C. 922) Persons convicted of misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the
position.
- -Incumbent must obtain and maintain appropriate occupational training certification IAW AMCR 350-
4, 49 CFR and FORSCOM 700-4 Training and Certification Program for personnel working in
ammunition operations.
- Incumbent must be cleared IAW requirements of AR 190-11. Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition
and Explosives (AA and E) (7281 Local Background Check).
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Army Drivers license for
equipment determined necessary to operate by supervisor.
- -Employee is required to complete pre-employment and annual physicals.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Munitions Handler~ without more than normal supervision. Performs common Munitions Handling tasks such as receipt, storage, issue, shipment, surveillance operations, and movement of ammunitions and residue. Work is performed under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level Munitions Handler who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Frequent bending, standing, walking and working in uncomfortable positions is required. Frequently lifts and carries items weigh in 60-70 pounds; occasionally handles heavier items.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside in all types of weather and temperature ranges. Exposed to dirt, dust, toxic and caustic materials, explosives, fumes and noise. Subject to cuts, bruises and sprains and to the possibility of more serious injuries from explosions equipment accidents. Use of protective clothing and equipment may be required.
