About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation, New Boston AS, NH. This position is Flexible and does not include benefits. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry up to and including 40 pounds. Must be able to work indoors/outdoors, irregular hours to include weekends and/or holidays. Must possess a valid driver's license.

Duties

Assists in planning, scheduling and assisting recreational programs and special events (i.e. Winter Carnival, hiking, skiing etc.) for the Outdoor Recreation program. Assists customers with questions and inquiries. May accompany or guide various recreational trips when necessary. Drives government vehicle to various work locations. Issues rental equipment and checks equipment items pre and post rental for damage. Instructs patrons on the proper use of equipment such as kayaks, canoes, and other items. Ensures rental forms are thoroughly completed. Provides routine maintenance on rental equipment, i.e. simple bike repairs, ski tuning, etc. Assists with customer reservations and inquiries for the FamCamp, picnic areas, Rec Lodging and RV Storage Lot. Monitors and controls supplies as necessary. Makes minor operational repairs as necessary in order to achieve safe and efficient facility operations. Cleans and prepares Rec Lodging cabins and FamCamp sites prior to customer reservations. Assesses for damage post customer check-out, makes reports to the Services Manager as necessary.   • This positions requires a completed satisfactorily pre-employment physical.
  • This position is a drug test designated position, the incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have working experience or knowledge of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures as related to Outdoor Recreation. Experience with customer service and making reservations is required. Applicant must have good organizational skills. Must have the ability to interpret and apply relevant rules, regulations, and policies. First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
