Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Pharmacy Technician, you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response to optimize business results and customer experience by: Performing as a procurement inventory management technician which consist of pharmaceutical and medical supply order initiations, receiving shipments of goods, assuring compliance with pharmaceutical storage requirements, inventory control through perpetual analysis, fund control, liaison with company and other government representatives, and resource for financial status reports and presentations. Maintaining accountability of daily purchases of pharmaceuticals, coordinates, receipts, controls budget ledger, assure consistent delivery schedules are employed and handled in a manner mutually beneficial to Division of Logistics (DOL) and National Disaster Medical system (NDMS) Pharmacy Service, and appropriately disperses stock into designated storage areas and field medical caches. Advising the National Chief Pharmacist and Cache Management Working Group on pharmaceutical issues and working with HHS medical staff to develop and update drug formulary for Pharmacy Services in support of ASPR programs.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Qualifying specialized experience gained in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or in pharmaceutical firms or laboratories. Experience must have provided a basic knowledge of: Pharmaceutical nomenclature; Characteristics, strengths, and dosage forms of pharmaceuticals; Pharmaceutical systems of weights and measures; and the Variety of procedures and techniques involved in the care, storage, repackaging, bulk compounding, and distribution of pharmaceuticals. AND Minimum Qualifications: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that is equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level in the performing ALL the following: Utilizing pharmaceutical systems of weights and measures and a variety of procedures and techniques involved in the care, storage, repackaging, bulk compounding, and distribution of pharmaceuticals; Utilizing pharmacy-based computer systems; and Performing pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management. OR One (1) year of graduate education (18 semester hours) that is directly related to the work of the position. OR A combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum qualifications for this position.
