This position is located at Bureau of Engraving and Printing, within the Inspection Division WCF. As a Currency Exchanger/Examiner, you will exchange mutilated currency for perfect star note blank engraved note sheets and hand, fan examine currency for defects during the production process as well as ensure the accountability of replaced and replacement currency on the assigned equipment.
Duties
As a Currency Exchanger/Examiner, you will:
Obtain sheets of 200 Examined Blank Engraved Stock (EBE's) and 200 perfect star notes from the star note vault in 100 sheet packages, ensure the sheet correctness of count by class, denomination and bank, and properly annotate the currency sheet exchange record.
Issue 50 perfect star engraved sheets to the COPE presspersons on loose receipt at the beginning of shift and during the shift respond to requests by COPE Presspersons to exchange mutilated sheets with replacement stock, (sheets of perfect star or blank engraved notes).
Sponge count each 100 sheets of mutilated currency as they accumulate for each press, return both to the vault placing the mutilated sheets between two white, blue tissues (color dependent on facility), and record the exchange on the top tissue and on the currency sheet exchange record.
Individually examine backs and faces of sheets one-at-a-time for any printing or paper defects.
Count mutilated currency in packs of 500 sheets using a mechanical counting machine, verifying the count and the load number.
