Duties

You will perform the full range of journeyman level plumbing task including the installation, modification, and repair of new and existing utility, supply, and disposal systems, such as, sewage, water and gas distribution systems. You will install, modify, and repair systems by locating and tapping mainlines, cutting route opening, placing hangers, and determining and installing valves, traps, and unions needed. You will install and repair low pressure heating and piping systems located on the low-pressure side of pressure reducing stations. You will perform service work, estimates labor and material requirements to determine job scope.

Qualifications

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work without more than normal supervision: 1.) Repairing existing utility, supply, and disposal systems through applying various plumbing and pipefitting trade practices and in accordance with building and plumbing codes; 2.) Reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, and sketches to complete assigned repair work; 3.) Repairing piping systems through soldering, brazing, cutting, bending, threading of pipes, and replacing faulty parts.
