About the Position: Fort Gregg-Adams, Home of Logistic Warriors, is a US Army installation located near the Tri-Cities of Petersburg, Colonial Heights, and Hopewell, VA. Fort Gregg-Adams is south of Richmond, the Capital of Virginia. There are a number of important missions accomplished by the activities located here. The missions accomplished at Fort Gregg-Adams include combat and training development and the professional development of military personnel through various training programs.
Duties
Coordinate projects and teams to develop process and procedure improvements for deployment/redeployment.
Provide feedback on how to improve military force projections/operations, deployment, and transportation operations.
Analyze historical/current operations to develop relevant force projection and deployment information products.
Analyze data on various military entities on lessons learned from foreign and/or US operations.
Assess Army force projection and deployment planning requirements using military systems and processes.
Provide input to higher level for recommendations of doctrine, regulation, and policy to increase Army force projection and deployment readiness.
Prepare correspondence related to deployment/redeployment and force projection to inform leaders at all levels and assist in decision making.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with deployment, sustainment and re-deployment processes; coordinating training exercise requirements with joint forces; analyzing force protection data; conducting research, analysis, experimentation, and exercises on force projection technologies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).All applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements within thirty (30) days after the closing date of the announcement.
This is a TERM NTE 26 JANUARY 2027 position. The expected duration of this term appointment is not to exceed (NTE) 27 JANUARY 2027, however employment may be terminated earlier than the established not to exceed date. Term employees serve under appointments limited to 366 days and are subject to termination at any time. Term appointments may be extended up to 8 years and may be made permanent without further competition.
Permanent employees who accept time-limited appointments will not have placement rights to the previously held permanent position at the end of the time-limited appointment. Employees who accept such time-limited appointment opportunities should be made fully aware of the associated impacts to their permanent status by signing an associated statement of understanding.
