You will serve as a Supervisory General Engineer, Aerospace Engineer in the Air Systems Group, Operations/Plans and Strategy Office of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
Duties
You will plan work and prepare performance plans covering work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets, and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of tasks.
You will assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.
You will give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters.
You will identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training.
You will ensure sound fiscal management by observing and applying STRL position management and classification principles, analyzing, and monitoring, and reducing costs.
You will provide long-range plans and establish specific program objectives to meet current and future personnel requirements.

Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band (NM-04) or grade level (GS-13/14) the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Managing the day-to-day operations of a technical organization including task prioritization and execution, and scheduling; 2) Maintaining a workforce of well-trained personnel that can execute the anticipated group workload; 3) Demonstrating working knowledge of the air systems and the Department of Navy and the Department of Defense policies, procedures, and guidance; 4) Establishing technical objectives and other basic guides to be followed by the group personnel and reviewing the performance of all group personnels; 5) Providing long-range plans and establishing specific program objectives to meet current and future customer requirements; and 6) Assigning work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

Education
Applicants must meet the following basic education requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)

Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
