As Project Portfolio Manager (PPM), you will lead and provide guidance on Information Technology (IT) projects within the Human Health and Performance Directorate, Business and Information Systems Services Office, Johnson Space Center (JSC). You will interface with senior level management at JSC and individuals at other NASA Centers and lead diverse groups to a successful implementation of the objectives for each project. Projects follow standard project management standards and practices.
Duties
Manages Information Technology (IT) projects in the Human Health and Performance (HHP) portfolio using standard Project Management (PM) practices: managing schedule, cost, scope, and assessing risk. Presents options to management.
Manages and solves issues from both a technical and strategic view. Seeks and demonstrates a fundamental understanding of technical capabilities and customer needs. Explores and implements new technologies to enhance products and services.
Works with customers to prioritize and baseline projects each fiscal year and to baseline requirements and subsequent milestones at a customer board or panel. Provides technical advice to customers on a wide range of IT project issues.
Serves as a technical liaison between customers, contractors, and business office management to develop integrated products and achieve consensus and buy-in before project start. Prepares and presents status charts.
Leads or supports internal Directorate projects that enhance daily operations and seeks out new work for the business office from Divisions, Programs, or other Directorates.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
To qualify for GS-13, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level:
Evaluating and developing information technology applications and interfaces to support systems and architectures;
Applying project management practices and standards to IT development and sustaining projects;
Managing and evaluating risks associated with information technology systems and architectures.
AND
You MUST also have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
