About the Position: This is a Budget Officer position located in Fort Wainwright, Alaska.

Duties
Serve as a principal advisor to the Commander, on all matters pertaining to Fiscal Law and budgetary execution.
Perform budgeting duties; analyze manpower and accounting reports; submit manpower, managerial and financial reports; and provide advice to the commander on the manpower and financial aspects of any management decision.
Participate in the formulation of major plans and policies by providing budgetary and programming input and outlining budgetary impact and limitations.
Interpret financial information.
Perform as primary fund certifying officer for the organization.
Serve as the primary approving official, an appointed duty with pecuniary liability, responsible for the legal, programmatic and ethical approval of all federally funded travel with.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes two or more of the following: advising on financial accounting and data systems; managing budgeting and expenditures of funds; developing cost estimates; and conducting budget analysis.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
