This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for AcqDemo Business and Technical Management Career Path (NH) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a senior level Security Specialist responsible for management of all facets of security including personnel, physical, information, communications, operations, information systems, Special Access Programs, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection and safety.

Duties

Responsible for the planning, development, implementation of policy and administration of all security disciplines in maintaining a certified and accredited organization and robust security program. Develops instructional material; and plans, schedules, and conducts training for employees. Coordinates training requirements with outside agencies having jurisdictional responsibility to provide training. Establishes and maintains a physical security program in accordance with DoD and Army regulations. Participates in information security program providing guidance on classification, downgrading and implementing solutions on varying classification levels and in accordance with DoD and Army regulations. Coordinates and assists the program managers and directorates with Contract Security Classification Specifications for contracts involving classified information to ensure compliance with DoD Industrial Security Regulations. Establishes and maintains an Operational Security (OPSEC) program, in accordance with AR 530-10.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing. Tentatively selected applicants will be required to sign DA Form 5019 requiring participation in random drug testing.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) may be required occasionally.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top-Secret security clearance with sensitive compartmental information or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. Requires the incumbent obtain Security Program Integration Professional Certification (SPIPC) within 2 years of entry on duty.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which has equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. This typically includes work performed at the next lower grade/level (NH-02/GS-11) position in the federal service. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Advising managers on new developments and advance in physical and industry security; 2) Interpreting security regulations and directives to implement security policies and procedures; and 3) Identifying security problems to ensure compliance.
