About the Position: You will lead the development and execution of the project's programs which are divided into four functional areas: recreation management, natural resources management, visitor assistance and interpretation. You will coordinate the work of rangers assigned to the functional areas. Recruitment incentives, including student loan repayment, may be offered to highly qualified candidates.

Duties

Prepare consolidated program documents for review by Operations Project Manager (OPM) Prepare concept plans for needed recreation facility rehabilitation, additions and new construction. Serve as an Ordering Officer to make over-the-counter purchases or telephone orders, within approved limits, using the Government purchase card. Coordinate work with other Federal agencies, local volunteers, and interested/affected state, local and county government officials to obtain cooperation in accomplishing program goals. Prepare or coordinate the preparation of environmental assessments or impact statements. Insure that contract billings are verified, and incidents of deficient work are documented and reported to the Operations Project Manager (OPM) Attend inter-agency and public meetings related to Corps activities and problems common to the involved participants to resolve problems of land utilization, recreation, maintenance and development.

Requirements

• Must acquire designation as ordering officer under the Government Purchase Card program within 12 months.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
• May be required to work nights/weekends.
• Required to obtain a USACE boat operator license within 12 months.
• Required to wear a USACE uniform.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
