This position is located in the Office of India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Bhutan Affairs (INSB) in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (SCA). The incumbent serves as a Secretary (Office Automation) and personal assistant to and under the supervision of the office deputy director for INSB. S/he is responsible for providing a wide range of secretarial, clerical, and administrative support functions.
Duties
Determines day to day priorities, interprets and adapts guidelines to resolve different situations based on
knowledge and/or analysis of policies and practices.
Reviews incoming and outgoing materials such as correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of
written and electronic communication for compliance with established policy.
Serves as primary liaison to replenish office supplies and secure technical assistance for office equipment and
maintenance.
Prepares and submits requisitions for office supplies, equipment, printing support, and related materials based upon personal assessment of office requirements.
Receives, schedules, refers, and contacts members of the staff, agency, and persons outside the agency ranging from other government agencies to the general public. Receives telephone calls and visitors.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet all the qualification requirements described below by the closing date of this announcement.
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of this position.
Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience providing courteous and accurate information to guests
Experience producing a variety of documents
Experience managing schedules and the workload of Executive Staff
Experience arranging schedule of visits as well travel arrangements
