Duties

This position starts at a salary of $117,962.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354 (GS-13 Step 10). In this position you will serve as a Program Manager in the Asset Management Branch (AMB) and oversee one or more programs that are responsible for the day-to-day life cycle management of CBP's sensitive law enforcement assets. Major duties include but are not limited to: Providing technical, programmatic, and administrative supervision; developing and prescribing procedures and techniques, and furnishing policy guidance to subordinates. Planning, organizing, coordinating, controlling, and evaluating total life cycle management of sensitive law enforcement assets such as body armor, firearms, less-lethal devices, and related equipment. Ensuring assigned programs and processes are covered by internal controls, and appropriate precautions are taken to prevent fraud, waste, and misuse of resources. Determining goals and objectives that need additional emphasis; developing measures that evaluate performance; and making recommendations for program improvement.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Overseeing the total life cycle management of law enforcement assets such as body armor, lethal and less-lethal law enforcement assets, and seized firearms. Processing, inventorying, shipping, and receiving lethal and less-lethal law enforcement assets. Developing and managing the execution of comprehensive maintenance plans for weapon systems. Identifying lethal or less-lethal law enforcement assets that have reached the end of useful service life, removing the assets from the accountability management systems, and being responsible for physically destroying the asset. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 02/21/2024.
