You will serve as a BOILER PLANT OPERATOR SUPERVISORY in the Public Works Department of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will analyze equipment and plant operating conditions to determine adjustments or corrections necessary for boiler operations. You will create plant operating schedules for operation and maintenance personnel, contract work, environmental compliance testing, and seasonal demand loads. You will adjust operating conditions using gauge readings to achieve optimal functioning. You will establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences for boiler making work assignments. You will Inspect boiler making work in progress and on completion to verify tasks are accomplished in accordance with specified instructions.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Stationary Engineers License Class I within one year of assuming position. A NIULP or ASOPE Class I license is acceptable.
  • Work requires "analysis by ear" close attention of eyes to reading gages and meters and distinguishing signal lights. Must be able to distinguish primary colors.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card to make official government purchases for goods and services.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
