This position is located in the United States Mint Office of the Manufacturing Department at the West Point Mint, under the Plant Manager. The incumbent in this position reports to the Certification Program Manager. The purpose of this position is to train a multifunctional work force of press machine operators, burnishing operators, packaging machine operators, die setters, and Production Maintenance Mechanics.

Duties

As a PRODUCTION MACHINERY MECHANIC TRAINING LEADER (COIN MANUFACTURER TRAINING LEADER), you will: Lead and train in the diagnosis to determine the nature and extent of necessary repairs and how to adjust, replace, or rework worn or damaged components. Maintain training records for trainees, which include what equipment is worked on, dates, and total hours on pieces of equipment, and provides feedback on trainee progress to the Production shift supervisors, Certification Program Manager and Production Manager. Work with the Certification Program Manager to develop procedures and assessing an employee's past work experience to determine if credit may be applied to on-the-job training requirements. Prepare daily lesson plans for assigned courses. Ensure lesson plans employ the full range of instructional techniques and tactics. Determine the best way to convey the course material to the students, using a combination of conferences, demonstrations, and practical exercises on equipment.
