Qualifications
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service. The time-in-grade and qualification requirements must be met within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement.
To qualify for this position at the GS-11 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following:
Experience in at least 2 of the following aspects of operational support during a disaster or contingency response emergency communications, mass notification, executive briefings, intelligence analysis, hazard analysis, risk assessment, continuity of operations, interagency coordination; AND
Experience working in an Operation/Watch/Command Center; AND
Providing assistance in gathering, analyzing, and disseminating information that supports decision making; AND
Draft reports with limited supervision that are generally error free and properly formatted.
OR I have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least three full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. in a related field (Transcript required).
OR I possess a combination of specialized experience, as described in the vacancy announcement, and related graduate level education, beyond the first full year of graduate level study, that when combined, meet the qualification requirements for this position (Transcript required).
To qualify for this position at the GS-12 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Education
Grade GS-11 Education substitution: This position permits applicants to qualify based on education (or a combination of education and experience), as outlined in the "requirements" section.
