The primary purpose of this position is to provide for security forces standardization/evaluation (stan/eval) program testing and inspections, and advise and assist in meeting program requirements.
Duties
Participates in correcting deficiencies identified through the stan/eval program.
Performs stan/eval testing functions.
Performs stan/eval inspections.
Performs administrative and coordinative duties for the stan/eval program.

- Must wear approved protective clothing such as body armor/ballistic plates, helmets, personal protective equipment, coats, boots, traffic vests and/or chemical protective equipment, ( e.g. respirator mask).
- Incumbent must be able to operate Security Forces Vehicles and installed equipment. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Subject to duty position evaluation on a pass/fail standard in accordance with AFI 36-2646, Security Forces Training And Standardization Evaluation Programs.
- Must pass formal law enforcement training school as determined by AF/A4S and obtain DoD Peace Officer Standardization and Training Certification.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of security concepts, principles, and methodologies to plan and implement stan/eval programs; and methods involved in performing tests and conducting inspections.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressing higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirement is at least 100%. NOTE: You must submit a copy of transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time--in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of security concepts, principles, and methodologies to plan and implement stan/eval programs.
Knowledge of wing security forces missions, functions, and structure.
Ability to conduct testing and inspections, evaluate results, and prescribe or recommend corrective measures for deficiencies.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with SF branch/section chiefs, contributing to a cooperative work environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT FACTS:
Incumbent will be exposed to the day-to-day dangers associated with law enforcement and security duties.
Must obtain and maintain a government travel card.
Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
Incumbent is required to obtain first responder training/certifications in CPR techniques, self-aid buddy care, and first aid on the job and maintain annually.
Recurring training is required to keep the incumbent knowledgeable on the updated specialized tactics, techniques and procedures necessary for preparation and response to catastrophic events, terrorist attacks and related threats to installations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
