Duties
Serves as Assistant Program Manager responsible for managing new systems through advanced development, production and fielding.
Assures Interface and coordination of all actions with other Government agencies, including Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency (DHA) and other organization elements.
Directs the work of specialists within the office and, through functional managers, the activities of a great many matrix support specialists.
Exercises management control of all functional inputs to the program.
Maintains direct channel communications with system users and the user community.
Analyzes the impact that contemplated budget revisions, proposed adjustments, legislative changes, economic trends or directives from higher echelons may have upon projects and take positive action to minimize adverse effects.
Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

This is a DOD Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Program Management certification within 60 months as of entrance on duty.

Basic Requirement for Program Manager, NH-0340-03:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing in budgeting, testing, and configuration management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-03).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
