You will serve as a MAINTENANCE FACILITY SITE MANAGER in the Production Resources Department, San Diego Detachment, of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will coordinate changes in project emphasis by revising work priorities and schedules to support the productive effort. You will work with the project superintendent during availability planning to ensure that project plans can be supported by facility and regional capabilities. You will regularly shift priorities and personnel to provide maximum coverage to support project schedules. You will establish and revise shipyard management and staffing plans for operation and maintenance requirements for assigned projects. You will plan and maintain budgets and administrative requirements for the facility and detachment. You will maintain a balanced workload among subordinate units through the proper distribution of work projects and allotment of manpower, equipment, and materials.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work may be performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical leadership and direction for project maintenance operations to develop recommendations for corrective action affecting project schedules related to ship or submarine overhaul and repair.
