Duties
This position is located within the United States Department of the Interior, Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Office of Renewable Energy Programs. This position will be located in Sterling, Virginia. This is not a remote position.
.At the full performance level (GS-14) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Act as a primary project coordinator for renewable energy leasing activities and during agency review and approval of proposed activities on existing renewable energy leases.
2. Evaluate complex and sensitive offshore renewable energy project lease requests requiring more delicate external coordination because of interest in the projects by State and local agencies, territories, tribal governments, public interest groups, industry groups, or private individuals.
3. Extensively coordinate and consult with other BOEM and Department of the Interior offices, Federal agencies, coastal states and territories, American Indian tribes, industry, and other interested parties.
4. Implement renewable energy leasing procedures.
5. Track compliance with lease and regulatory requirements and procedures after lease issuance.
The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has determined that the duties of this position has determined that this position is eligible for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisory approval.
Salary Information
GS-13:$117,962.00 to $153,354.00 per annum.
GS-14: $139,395.00 to $181,216.00 per annum.
First time hires to the Federal government normally start at the lower salary range of the grade level.
This vacancy may be used to fill additional positions as vacancies become available.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
To qualify for this position you must meet the specialized experience for the series to which you are applying.
Specialized Experience
To qualify for the GS-13, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience:
1) Assisting in projects that must comply with federal regulation of energy, mineral, or other natural resources; and
2) Coordinating and/or consulting with a diverse range of subject matter experts, scientists and/or technical professionals, both internal and external to your organization; and
3) Implementing pre-existing policy, guidance and/or regulations related to energy, mineral, or other natural resources.
Must meet all.
