About the Position: This is a PERMANENT Visual Information Specialist position with the U.S. Army Central Public Affairs Office located at Shaw AFB, SC. ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND OPM PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK".

Duties

Incumbent assists in planning, acquiring, and producing video, photography and graphic arts products to support strategic and operational communication objectives. Develops accurate and visual communication of strategic communication programs, policies, issues, and activities worldwide, for both internal and external audiences Applies a working knowledge of visual arts work and public affairs, including internal and external information, social media, and community relations. Stays current on all topics and trends of digital presence and visual layout. Resolves visual communications problems. Ensures all visual information products match industry standards for quality

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 25% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes work that involves producing a variety of graphic prints and digital images, using cameras, computer editing software to enhance and increase the quality of images, and diagnosing and performing minor repairs on visual information production equipment; and greeting walk-in customers; and answering and directing phone calls. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
