About the Position: This position is located in a warehouse environment at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital - Director of Resource Management; Logistics, Distribution. The incumbent will maintain primary oversight of the assigned sections including receiving, storage and customer support areas.

Duties

Ensures that all requirements dealing with issue, receipt, and storage of medical gases for the medical facilities are met and all Hazcom directives are followed. Maintains readiness of the warehouse and outlying storage areas to properly store a variety of medical and non-medical material. Oversees the entire warehousing operation for the installation medical supply account and associated customers. Responsible for training of appropriate personnel in the handling and storage of temperature sensitive medical products (TSMP).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. You are required to pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state drivers to obtain Government drivers certification to operate vehicles or material handling equipment such as, forklift, stock picker, and/or electric pallet jack.
  • This position requires you to work other than normal duty hours, which may include which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • This position may require wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, safety belt.
  • This position requires lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • This position may require immunization screening.

Assistance is available from other warehouse personnel with heavier items. Requires walking on a concrete floor for most of the day. Uses safety and protective clothing and equipment furnished by the employer. Subject to extreme weather conditions, performs work primarily indoors, but does go outside to maintain stock in outside storage facilities and to delivery supplies to the medical treatment facility and other off site locations. Work is done inside or outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, drafty, or poorly lighted. Regularly exposed to the possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, abrasions, falls and injury from falling stock or mechanized work areas. May work in assigned areas in which temperatures are controlled such as the Army Institute of Surgical Research (ISR) Burn Ward and the OR where germs and patient treatment is the regulating factor of comfort. Employee is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for the job and work area where assigned or as directed by the supervisor. Work may require wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as steel toed shoes, rubber gloves, masks, rubber aprons. Type of protection will be determined by the work environment. Clothing and equipment include, but are not limited to the following: eye, respiratory and foot protection, protective clothing (gloves, apron, coveralls, scrubs, etc.) Other types may be required as deemed necessary by authorized management officials. Employee will be required to wear approved hearing protective devices and an audio metric test will be conducted, as necessary, when working near or around noise hazardous areas, machinery or equipment. Identification badges are required to ensure that staff is authorized access to assigned areas. Identifies and reports safety, environmental, and facility issues to their supervisor for processing. In addition, may also be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and solvents, and to high noise levels in mechanized work areas. When working with hazardous materials, may be subject to exposure from radiation, toxins or chemical fumes. Also at risk for the possibility of exposure due to infectious diseases from patient areas.
