The National Intelligence University (NIU) is the Intelligence Community's sole accredited, federal degree-granting institution. It serves as the intellectual hub for the intelligence profession, preparing today's leaders for tomorrow's challenges.

Duties

Provide direct-to-customer technical support for university information technology and audiovisual technology systems ranging from desktop computers and phones to video teleconference (VTC) technologies. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining information technology (IT) and classroom audiovisual (AV) systems, to include upgrade and replacement projects. Provide user credentials, PKI certificates, authentication tokens, etc. Accomplish complex IT projects or programs that may include ill-defined requirements, ambiguity, parallel tasks, multiple dependencies, high risks, and multiple interfaces; ensure alignment with strategic or corporate objectives; define and review of customer and stakeholder requirements; follow plans and schedules throughout the life of the project. Communicate project plans and schedules based on a clear understanding of customer requirements and information on project cost, schedule, quality, and performance; estimate costs and resources; implement budget activities and cost estimates for future projects.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States
  • Appointment is subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI)
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • A two-year trial period is required for all new permanent appointments to the ODNI.

Qualifications

Experience supporting and maintaining information technology (IT) and audiovisual (AV) systems. Ability to balance responsibilities among project activities; ability to manage transitions effectively from task to task, adapting to varying customer needs. Interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills, including ability to work effectively both independently and in a team or collaborative environment and to lead and mentor junior colleagues. Ability to listen to, clarify, and convey understanding of others' ideas, comments, and questions as well as to integrate and build upon diverse opinions in a manner that encourages the formation of integrated solutions and positions. Ability to develop or implement information systems security plans and procedures. Ability to quickly identify and apply new technologies, methodologies, and technical languages. Ability to obtain required DoD 8570 IT certifications within the first 6 months of employment. B.S. Degree or equivalent IT experience with IT Certifications Desired Requirement: Thorough knowledge of multiple IT or AV disciplines/specialties (hardware, software, and networks). Possess DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 Certification (ex. CompTIA Security+). Possess Microsoft 365 and Azure experience or certifications. Web development experience (SharePoint, WordPress, etc…). Experience supporting educational student information systems and learning management systems. Experience programming and writing scripts to automate tasks.
