This position serves as the Employee Engagement Officer and is located in Glacier National Park, in the Administrative Division focusing on employee support and development for Glacier National Park program areas and provides a variety of management support services essential to the park, training community and employees served. The incumbent is responsible for the park-wide development, implementation, and evaluation of training and employee development/support programs.
Duties
The major duties of the Training Specialist (Employee Engagement Officer) include, but are not limited to:
Fosters a collaborative and inclusive culture by creating or facilitating opportunities for employee engagement and development across all levels of the unit.
Identifies and develops training programs reflective of organizational needs and requirements.
Serves as an internal communication liaison to ensure information is being shared at the appropriate levels of the organization.
Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level.
Promotion to the full performance level is neither guaranteed nor implied and will be based solely on your ability to satisfactorily perform the work of the position, existing work at the higher grade level, and recommendation by the position's supervisor.
Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary but may require moderately long periods of standing; possible bending; and lifting and carrying light to moderately heavy objects such as training materials and handbooks.
Working Conditions: Work is primarily performed in an office setting, where adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation is present. Work may occasionally be performed in outdoor settings with exposure to uneven terrain, moderate slopes, and inclement weather. Certain travel requirements would entail exposure to a variety of climates, altitudes, and other environmental considerations.
Qualifications
All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-02/23/2024-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement.
Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. For current Federal employees, if hours worked per week are not included on your resume, you must submit a non-award SF-50 as part of your application to be used to validate your work schedule and determine the amount of specialized experience that you will be granted. An award SF-50 will not be acceptable documentation for which to consider your amount of qualifying experience. For all other applicants who are not current federal employees, your resume must state either "full-time" (or "40 hours a week") or "part-time" with the number of hours worked per week to ensure proper crediting of specialized experience.
For periods of time that reflect military service, the DD-214 or Statement of Service is sufficient to meet the full and/or part-time hours requirement as the service dates will be reflected.
To qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Facilitated learning experiences; collaborated to research, design, and develop educational plans and materials; assisted other education specialists or professionals present environmental education programs to a variety of academic levels; collaborated with education specialists or partners in preparing/producing materials for learning experiences. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least one full year of graduate level education; The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work with major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. You must include transcripts.
-OR-
Successful completion of an appropriate combination of specialized experience as described in A above, and education as described in B above which total at least one year. For example, 6 months of experience and 9 semester hours of graduate level education.
-OR- A bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (go to this site determine if you are eligible: http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/policy/ApplicationOfStds-04.asp).
To qualify for this position at the GS-09 grade level, you must possess one of the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:
EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: Assisted trainer/instructor with education programs; Used organizational skills to assure smooth logistics, for example phone/email correspondence or scheduling with groups; Planned and coordinated events or similar functions; Collaborated with others to design and implement educational programs or field trips. You must include hours per week worked.

EDUCATION: Successful completion of at least a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work with major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. You must include transcripts.

Successful completion of an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education as described above (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). You must include transcripts.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an
accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking. Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet qualification requirements, you must show that your education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
