You will serve as Deputy Public Affairs and Congressional Affairs Division Head and Public Affairs Officer in the Naval Surface Warfare Center Corona Division of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CTR CORONA DIV.
The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high-grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $156,323.00).
Duties
You will develop and maintain program procedures that advertise an organization's accomplishments to other agencies, defense industry partners, and general media to facilitate program support.
You will serve as Corona Division's Deputy Public Affairs and Congressional Affairs Division Head and Public Affairs Officer.
You will perform the full duties and responsibilities of the position and assists the Director and team members in marketing and communications related projects pertaining to internal and external communications support.
You will coordinate and manage the public affairs budget.
You will support the drafting and editing of speeches, interviews, opinion pieces, etc.
You will monitor and analyze media and prepares data.
You will work with managers and clients to create, develop, and implement long and short term internal and external communication strategies, messaging strategies, and strategic communication plans and/or projects.
You will research, compile, and present data to assist with setting marketing and communications strategies.
You will assist with the daily planning and tracking of social media posts (Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, and Instagram).
You will extract sound-bites from videos for use in news articles or on social media; creates short social media videos by video team.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
For the NT-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS 11-12) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing and implementing communication strategies to create informational content and materials for promoting public awareness of an organization's mission or services.
For the NT-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-03 (GS 9-10) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying principles, methods, practices and techniques of communication to prepare informational content for the administration regarding the organization's public affairs program.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
