You will serve as a Transportation Assistant in the Transportation Operations Department of NAVSUP WEAPON SYSTEMS SUPPORT.
Duties
You will provide cargo management control and processing of requirements received from government and commercial agencies.
You will evaluate and process shipment requests to ensure proper handling.
You will advise customers on documentation and data requirements for air shipments through the Defense Transportation System (DTS).
You will review and determine airlift eligibility of cargo/shipment requests.
You will communicate status changes and/or clearance information to appropriate personnel.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying knowledge of traffic and transportation management, as well as Department of the Navy supply and distribution systems. Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Interpreting and applying information contained in traffic management manuals and regulations; 2) Utilizing automated technology systems such as, the Defense Transportation System (DTS) and Financial and Air Clearance Transportation System (FACTS) to query information, analyze data, and produce reports; 3) Applying knowledge of transportation/traffic management, documentation, channels, codes, systems, and procedures to determine transportation mode; and 4) Communicating with customers and providing responses to inquiries regarding cargo/shipment information or status.
